J.D. Hollingsworth, of Packwood, visited his grandma, Winifred Fritz, on June 2. They were joined by his mother, Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth, of Fairfield. They worked in the garden that afternoon. They all enjoyed the strawberry shortcake for dessert with the evening meal. Mary provided the strawberries from her garden.
Winifred received a phone call from her grandson Isaac Berry, of Springfield, Missouri, on June 3.
Pat Remington met her daughter Angela Garmoe, of Mt. Pleasant, on June 3. They enjoyed shopping in Mt. Pleasant and dining at Arby’s.
Murray Schooley, of Kingman, Arizona, is spending the next couple of weeks visiting his mother, Shirley Schooley, of Brighton.
Around two dozen people (from Brighton, Washington, Fairfield, Wayland and Mt. Pleasant) attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting June 6, at the Brighton Church of God. The evening included dinner; praise and worship music; optional small group sharing; and a lesson on what it means and why it’s important, for purposes of recovery, to be entirely ready to have God remove our character defects.
The next weekly meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit or hangup, will be held Thursday, June 13 at the Brighton Church of God beginning
at 6 p.m. with a free meal.
