Capture Washington Photo Contest submissions open

Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 the Washington Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Running Robots marketing team is looking for photos of Washington, Iowa area including events, attractions, businesses, landscapes, festivals, families having fun and/or anything you think is just an amazing photo taken in the Washington area for the Capture Washington Photo Contest.

The best photos and prizes have been judged by the Hotel/Motel Tax Committee and awarded for summer and fall 2018 submissions. Summer 2018 first place and $250 Chamber bucks was awarded to Barb Swift for her photo of the downtown fountain. Summer second place and $100 Chamber bucks went to Lisa Hixson for a beautiful sunset photo. And summer third place and $50 Chamber bucks was given to Sally Hart for a photo of girls at Latino Festival.

The fall 2018 first and third place were also awarded to Barb Swift for a photo of DAR log cabin claiming first place and a picture of Steve Roth’s home decorated for Halloween winning third place. The fall 2018 second place winner was Cheyenne Miller with a photo of the high school band on Case Field.

The committee is now accepting photos for the winter Capture Washington Photo Contest. The prizes are as follows first place: $250 Chamber bucks, second Place: $100 Chamber bucks, and third Place: $50 Chamber bucks. They are seeking photos that represent everything winter in Washington. The deadline to submit photos for the winter contest is Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019.
