Accident reported on Highway 218

Emergency responders reported to the scene Wednesday, March 20, when a car reportedly left the southbound lane Highway 218 about a mile south of 192nd Street at approximately 9:45 a.m. The vehicle was reported upside down in the creek under a bridge. Washington County Sheriff’s deputies, Ainsworth Fire Department, Riverside Fire Department, Washington County Rescue, Washington County Ambulance and tow personnel responded. Traffic was routed around the lane the emergency crews were working in. Crews had to use ropes to decend the side of the creeek to access the vehicle about 30 feet below the roadway.
