An officer reported being out with two vehicles by the baseball fields at the high school, Tuesday night at South Avenue B in Washington. Sean Christopher Miller, 50, of Washington, was arrested on a charge of violation of no-contact order.

Traffic accident

A caller Tuesday morning reported a vehicle in the ditch with no injuries, south of Wellman on Ginkgo Avenue. An officer responded. The vehicle was unoccupied upon the officer’s arrival, and it was marked with orange tape. It appeared to have no damage.

Traffic other

A caller Tuesday morning at West Madison Street in Washington reported a school bus violation that occurred Monday morning at 8:15. An officer responded. A citation was issued to Ricky Pierce, 51, of Washington, for unlawful passing of a school bus, first offense. The subject was given a court date of 9 a.m., Dec. 20.

A caller’s son reportedly advised that a white Silverado just drove through the yard, Tuesday morning at South Avenue C in Washington. An officer responded and spoke with the operator. He was working on the house and had permission to be there.

An officer received a report of a suspicious semi possibly stuck in a driveway west of the railroad bridge, Tuesday night at 250th Street in Washington. The officer assisted the driver, who was on his way.

A caller early Friday morning at Highway 1 and 110th Street in Kalona reported a van parked at the four-way stop, and no one was around. An officer responded and located the driver, who was getting fuel to bring back to the vehicle.

Disabled vehicles

An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Tuesday night at Gingko Avenue in Wellman. The vehicle was tagged and added to the system.

Animal complaint

A caller Tuesday morning at North Marion Avenue in Washington reported that there was a sick raccoon in front of the post office mailbox. Two officers responded. An officer tried to approach the raccoon, but it ran off.

A caller Tuesday morning at First Avenue and Sixth Street in Wellman reported that a bus driver advised of an injured deer just north of town on W38 along the roadway on the east side. An officer responded and was unable to locate the deer.

A caller reported that a big white dog with collar and tags seemed lost in the neighborhood, Tuesday morning at West Washington Street in Washington. An officer responded and was unable to locate the animal. The dog showed up at the animal shelter, and was to be picked up by the dog catcher. It was a white boxer-bulldog mix with a blue collar and a rabies tag.

A caller Tuesday afternoon at South Marion Avenue in Washington reported a loose brown-and-white cow on the square, last seen by Ross Auto. Marion Avenue Baptist Church was contacted, and they were able to get the cow picked up and in a stock trailer.

A deputy received a report of a loose dog, Tuesday afternoon at 12th Avenue in Wellman. The officer issued a warning to Heather Stoner for allowing dogs to run at large. The dogs were a German shepherd type and a husky.

Disorderly conduct

A caller Tuesday afternoon at West Second Street in Washington reported a subject who was refusing to leave. An officer transported the subject to the Hawkeye Motel.

A caller Tuesday evening at South Sixth Street in Kalona reported a 15-year-old who was fighting with her mother and throwing things around the house. The mother was injured although refusing medical attention. An officer responded. The mother refused to press assault charges. The juvenile left the residence with her dog. The family was advised on the committal process.

Family offense nonviolent

A caller Tuesday afternoon at West Van Buren Street in Washington reported being harassed by her husband, who had voluntarily left and moved to California three months earlier. He was saying that he was coming back. He had sent her 167 text messages. An officer spoke with the caller. The information was documented for the time being.

Mental subject

A caller Tuesday afternoon at West Madison Street in Washington requested an officer to respond to a room with a specified number, and wanted to relinquish some items. An officer responded and retrieved two items.

Runaways/missing person

A caller Tuesday afternoon at East Third Street in Washington reported a missing child. They were unable to locate her in the house. Six officers responded. The child was located in the backyard.

Suspicious activity

A caller early Friday morning at Fir Avenue in Wellman reported that subjects were outside his house. An officer checked inside and outside of the residence and was unable to locate anyone. The incident was documented.

Welfare check

A caller Tuesday morning at West Madison Street in Washington requested a welfare check on a subject who was making concerning phone calls. An officer spoke with the subject. Documentation was made.

A caller Tuesday afternoon at 275th Street in Washington requested a welfare check on a subject who contacted them. Two officers responded and were unable to locate the subject.

All other theft

Three officers responded to a call at East Washington Street in Washington, early Friday morning. The incident is under investigation.

All other offenses

Keokuk County requested that a deputy respond for assistance on a call, Friday morning at East Broadway Street in Keota. A Washington County officer responded and assisted.
