The postseason in Class 3A regional softball action Wednesday saw two area teams’ seasons end.

No. 11 Solon 9, Mid-Prairie 1

This 3A Region 5 quarterfinal game was at Solon.

Solon (22-15) advances to play Friday’s semifinal, hosting Benton (15-22), a 7-4 winner over Roland Story.

Mid-Prairie ends its season at 9-21.

No. 1 Davenport Assumption 12, Columbus 0

Davenport was the site of this Region 1 game that ended in three innings at the St. Vincent Center.

Assumption pitcher Allie Timmons twirled a no-hitter, but issued two walks.

Columbus ended its season at 4-20.

“The first two innings we played great,” Columbus coach Katie Coil said. “They only had a 4-0 run. We just had too many mistakes on routine plays. Assumption is a very solid organization and very disciplined.”

Columbus committed six errors in the game.

Assumption (36-2) advances to play Friday’s semifinal, hosting Monticello (14-22), a 10-9 winner over Center Point-Urbana in the quarterfinals.
