The Washington High School soccer season ended for boys Monday when the Demons lost to Ft. Madison at Iowa City Liberty, 3-0.

The Demons finished with a 3-12 record overall and were 2-6 in the Southeast Conference.

The Demons will lose the three seniors, who were honored in the final home game which was a loss to Fairfield.

They are Caleb Suchan, Garrett Ikerd and Benjamin Baughman.

“We honored our three seniors and their parents before the match,” Washington coach Sally Hart said. “They’re a great trio of athletes and teammates. We’ll have big roles to fill next year.”

Ikerd was a tenacious defender and had a goal and an assist this season. Suchan was a forward and scored three goals and dished two assists. Baughman was the primary goalkeeper and holds the record for saves in a regulation game.

“Garrett has been a key part of our defense, Caleb creates a lot of offense and has a high number of career goals, and Ben has been strong in goal,” Hart said. “They all are high caliber soccer players, and more so good people. I wish each of them the best of luck as they go to college in the fall.”
