The final Class 5A and Class 4A softball rankings were released Wednesday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Southeast Conference member Mt. Pleasant fell out of the top 15 from the No. 12 spot.

Washington (22-14) starts postseason play today against Iowa City Liberty (18-20). A victory would mean playing at No. 11 Cedar Rapids Xavier (24-15). No. 5 Independence (28-11) is on the other side of the Region 5 bracket.
